Expo 2011 showcases the North West
From putting up the Ferris Wheel to decorating the main roads with street-pole banners—North West Expo always makes an impression. North West Expo gained interest and involvement from Regional Chambers, Development Commissions, Visitors Centres regional Shires and Towns through offering incentives, Chamber and Visitor Centre member rebates. A trip to Pilbara in early January, along with our extensive database, media coverage and professional contacts has allowed the event to build a regional profile that saw 7% of exhibitors hailing from the Pilbara at this year’s Expo. Cooperation from Shires for the Quick Q&A write up in the Official Program included: Shire of Ashburton; Shire of Broome; Shire of Derby West Kimberley; Town of Port Hedland; Shire of Roebourne; Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley. All visitors to the Expo over the weekend had a chance to win a Kimberley Adventure Holiday prize, featured with a coupon in the Broome Advertiser and additional coupons at the Expo gate. The draw had 1,034 valid entries and allowed Expo to continue to showcase the North West with prizes from sponsors Skywest Airlines, Pinctada Kimberley Grande and Kununurra tour operators. Each year North West Expo facilitates greater cross-regional collaboration, delivers opportunities to business and the community, and develops new initiatives to promote the North West regions and industry. North West Expo takes a borderless approach to information sharing, identifying challenges and success stories from the North West of Australia and brings business, industry and organisations together to share their objectives, methods and create powerful partnerships. In 2010 there was so much to do at North West Expo from buying a block of land to checking you’re on the electoral role, picking up a tasty lunch, watching dancers, singers and performers onstage with face-painting and inflatable squash for the kids. Promoting the North West as a pivotal contributor to the state and national economy has the ability to attract additional investment in infrastructure and service delivery. 2012 marks the 10th North West Expo regional event in Broome, WA and we look forward to welcoming businesses, local government, chambers and visitor centres from across the North West. |
