North West Expo Increases Capacity in 2012Exhibitor sites sold out before North West Expo in May this year. To enable the event to grow, Expo has committed to providing additional infrastructure for 2012, in anticipation of 13-15 % more exhibitors. “Potential exhibitors were disappointed last year because there were no sites left by the time they decided to book”, said Elisabeth Lucke, President of NW Expo. “Indoor sites sold out before registration deadline in February, and even some of the repeat indoor exhibitors had to be accommodated in outdoor booths”. A 25 metre x 15 metre Pavillion will be erected on the carpark. This area will be professionally boothed with all the facilities of the Indoor Stadium, accommodating up to 18 exhibitors with an activities area central to the Pavilion. The North West Expo has an agreement with the Shire of Broome to hold the event at the Broome Recreation & Aquatic Centre until 2014. “Given the constraints of the venue and the increasing sporting infrastructure that the Shire is building on the site, the NW Expo has outgrown this premises and had to look at ways of increasing capacity this year”, said Ms Lucke. “Each year the NW Expo receives interest from wider afield. In 2011 the event increased its marketing to encourage more businesses from the Pilbara to exhibit. With the assistance of our media partners we have been able to advertise across the North West. We have also had the assistance of the Chambers of Commerce in the Pilbara towns to spread the message to their members to attend the NW Expo to increase their business opportunities. We hope to attract businesses from other towns in 2012”. Exhibitors from national companies who visit both metropolitan and regional shows have recorded that the experience they have at Australia’s North West Expo is amongst the best in Australia. “We’ve worked hard to develop a truly organised and professional event, making the exhibitor experience easy and satisfying”, said Ms Lucke. With events like the Resources Industry Conference, the annual Master Builders’ Awards and the Kimberley Economic Forum planned around the Expo dates, networking and co-operative project development is likely to peak in 2012. Exhibitors from outside Broome usually find more than one reason to come to the North West around Expo time. The North West Expo acts as a catalyst for innovation, growth and networking to create positive outcomes for the region. It showcases opportunities for business, industry, employment, arts, tourism, recreation and culture in this vast, remote and growing region. “May 5 & 6 2012 will be the 10th Anniversary of the North West Expo and we are planning a full weekend of activities to entertain, educate and enjoy”, said Ms Lucke. Exhibitor registration forms have been released this week and the new interactive Site Registration forms can be downloaded. |
