HIGHLIGHTS of the 2008 NW EXPO
NW EXPO has great pleasure in showcasing some of the regions very talented recreation and entertaining community groups providing multicultural interaction and enjoyment for all.
TASTE North West
Introduced for the first time in 2008, an exciting event at Expo celebrating the very best of regional produce and Kimberley style cuisine. Taste is a showcase of local produce you can sample and purchase.

Celebrity chef Chris Taylor of Perth’s Fraser Restaurant will be a highlight of the Expo. Chris will use regional product including boabs from Kununurra, local seafood, gubinge, crocodile meat, pearl meat, mangoes and other tasty product from the Kimberley.
Some of our well-known local gourmet chefs will also be showing how to whip up a fantastic meal. MATSO'S brewery will offer beer appreciation sessions.
Throughout the day there will be some of Broome's finest musicians playing their unique sounds on the bar stage.
So sit back with a local brew, some regional flavours and listen to some great music. |

Showcasing our community and school groups, you will be entertained with music, dance, fashion and demonstrations. This year St Mary's dances return to the stage along with TAFE musicians, Broome Senior High school music students, Deck Arts dance students, Tai Chi, Martial Arts plus many more.

THE PINK TENT - Women in Business |
|
Take a step into a quiet space.....
An additional feature this year is the Pink Tent,
a relaxed space to share a series of informative sessions
for women. Guest speakers will be offering insights into their lifestyles and experiences in relation to balancing work, life and fun. Take a journey into 'a day in the life on the land', women in local government, singing workshop and Buddhist meditation. Start the day with a yoga session and try clay sculpting. Learn about bush foods and super foods. Get some fashion swimwear, stress management or managing budget tips. Sit in for a make-up demonstration, the latest in contraception, women in the media and much more.

SPORTING ACTIVITIES tennis courts |
|
Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre hosts a number of local sporting clubs. On the tennis courts this expo Cal Bruton, the “Black Pearl” of National Basketball League fame will be running some ‘skill drills’ for all budding basketball players keen to get some tips from this great player. The Broome Tennis Club will be offering free coaching clinics. Ultimate Frisbee will be demonstrating and getting everyone involved. Also don’t miss Martial Arts and Tai Chi displays on the main stage.

FISHING and LIFESTYLE – POOLSIDE |
|
The Broome Fishing Club will be on site to give you a few tips on landing a big fish and they’ll also be taking centre stage to demonstrate some fly-casting and net casting. If you want a new boat or motor, Moby Dick Marine will be bringing a selection of Quintrex, Polycraft, Yamaha and much more. The Broome Sailing Club will also be poolside offering rigging demonstrations. If you need a new pool cover, want to laze by the pool in the latest new hammock chair or find out about the latest renewable energy systems, head to the pool area.

CAREERS PATH |

Visit the Careers Path Marquee and career advisers will be on hand to talk with you about what job options available in the Kimberley. Located at site 11 this information booth aims to assist young people with career choices and opportunities through careers counseling, traineeships, apprenticeships, jobs board, aptitude testing, training courses and general information on many careers. As well as the information provided in the Careers Marquee, a lot of our exhibitors have specific information about careers in their industry. Supported by Woodside

HEALTHY LIVING |

This year at North West Expo many of the regions health providers will be there to offer FREE health tests, advice and information about prevention, care and medical services in the Kimberley. Doctors, nurses and Aboriginal health workers from BRAMS, KPHU, KAMSC and other Kimberley Health organisations will be at the Healthy Living Marquee to provide free health tests and information related to eyesight, hearing, nutrition, sexual health, women and men’s health.
