Expo delivers Business and Community Outcomes

Business
The Best Exhibitor Award supported by Leading Edge Computers Broome was awarded by Nicola Walters, Managing Director, to Replas WA.  Congratulations to Replas WA, North West Expo wishes you the best with your business. 

Other business outcomes include -

  • Oz Pig were able to on sell their product to Kleenheat Gas House who have become the local supplier of the product;
  • Public Trustee allocated all of their free wills to be drawn up for individuals in the North West;
  • BNB Fencing met up with a developer and signed on to 5 months of work in the next financial year;
  • Kleenheat Gas House achieved greater sales up $2,000 on last years takings for the Expo weekend they also had 224 entries into their Win a BBQ draw;
  • LJ Hooker had 4 people put their names down to reserve blocks at Broome North;
  • Skill Hire reported “we made contact with lots of new businesses who are interested in using our services”;
  • Bronze Sponsor Pritchard Francis said their outcomes were “very good contacts established with local small businesses and government agencies enabled us to establish brand recognition in the region”.

Community
Community groups and social issues are promoted through local family, environmental and sporting groups exhibiting. These sites support a cohesive community that recognises the needs and aspirations of all its people and promote involvement with 10% of all exhibition sites at North West Expo subsidised for community and volunteer groups. Expo actively encourages the ‘adoption’ of community not for profit groups by business to support each other in realising marketing aims.
Community outcomes include -

  • “Alternative to Violence Project had a range of activities where community members folded peace cranes which now decorate the Kimberley Family Relationship Centre front office. Badges were created by children and adults. Some drums have hummed ever so modestly. Many happy known and unknown faces came past greeting. And - community members have expressed interest in AVP. To those who have signed up to be involved in the future, ‘Welcome to you!’” - Fae Gerrits, Chairperson;
  • Fishing Club reported 6 new memberships and sales of their merchandise;
  • Broome Turf Club sold memberships to the 2011 race season and distributed race date information;
  • 170 people took part in the North West Expo Junior Basketball Carnival held by the Broome Basketball Association in the fourth year of the event—this year’s carnival marked the highest number of teams and participants;
  • For the first time Shinju Matsuri were at Expo with Little Sammy a hit on stage, a fantastic display in site number 1,  merchandise sales, 12 registrations for Little Sammy and 6 for Sammy the Dragon.  The festival also handed out Events Calendars and met two potential sponsors;
  • “For WA Squash, North West Expo proved to be the best promotional exercise I have been involved in. And I must say I have done a few. The awareness we gained was massive, and I can tell this by the way the kids responded when I went into the schools the following week. They would ask me ‘are these the courts that were at the Expo’ and that was even said to me out in Derby!” - Mike Cornish, WA Squash, State Coaching Director.
